Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

Do you accept insurance?

- We do not accept insurance to allow for longer, more frequent visits and to offer a full spectrum of personalized menopause care.

- At your request, we can supply you with a superbill after your visit. You can submit this to your insurance as a visit with an out-of-network provider. Reimbursement rates will vary based on your insurance carrier, plan, and deductible.

- HSA/FSA funds are accepted. When entering your payment information use your HSA/FSA card.

- Of note, we can send prescriptions/imaging/labs to be billed to your insurance for PPO plan holders. This is not the case for those who hold HMO plans.

What type of treatment do you offer?

Depending on your symptoms and health history,  together, we’ll consider hormonal and non-hormonal therapies, as well as nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle modifications. My practice alligns with recommendations from the Menopause Society(TMS formerly NAMS) and The International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH)

What can I expect at the first visit?

Upon scheduling your initial visit, you will be asked to complete a detailed health history and menopause questionnaire.  As a certified menopause physician I will discuss with you the root causes for your symptoms, treatment options, and preventive measures. If applicable you may be offered lab tests or other diagnostics for you to do at a future time. We will discuss treatment options and your prescriptions will be sent to your desired pharmacy.

How often will I need to see you?

Your journey begins with an initial 60-minute visit, followed by a 30-minute check-in after 2-3 months. After your second appointment, we’ll continue to meet every 2-3 months until you feel like your best self—this could be around month 3 or may require more time. Once we’ve established your progress, I recommend annual visits to make any necessary adjustments and renew prescriptions.

Do you treat women who have had breast or ovarian cancer?

Yes! Please do not discount your ability to use hormone therapy for your menopausal symptoms after breast or ovarian cancer. You deserve time and education around the topic so you can make decisions with a menopause specialist and your oncologist that are best for you. I work closely with you and your oncologist to discuss the nuances of hormone therapy for cancer survivors.

What if I have a question between visits?

We love that you are invested and have further questions.
